Monthly Overview (July 2026)

FY2027

July

The apparel market in July remained solid, particularly for high-priced merchandise including luxury brands, supported by growth in inbound sales due to the depreciation of the yen. In the general apparel market, midsummer products performed well, driven by extreme heat nationwide, while clearance sales were sluggish.

In our company, full-price sales performed well, driven by the strengthening of the lineup of midsummer products, particularly lightweight apparel. On the other hand, markdown sales were sluggish due to the reduction in the number of markdown items and reduced discount rates. As a result, overall sales fell below the previous year's level. By sales channel, although full-price sales exceeded the previous year's level across all channels, it was not sufficient to offset the decline in markdown sales.

As a consequence of the above, sales at physical stores such as department stores, directly managed stores, and outlet stores were at 93% of the previous year’s level, EC sales were at 85%, and total company sales were at 92% of the previous year’s level.
