Monthly Overview (March 2026)

FY2027

2026

March

The apparel market in March remained solid overall, driven by strong sales of spring products due to rising temperatures and recovery in inbound sales due to the continued depreciation of the yen.

In our company, the first half of the month was somewhat challenging due to low temperatures, but as temperatures rose in the latter half, spring products, particularly spring coats, outerwear, and jackets performed well, resulting in monthly performance on par with the previous year.

By sales channel, department stores fell below the previous year due to the impact of reduction in the number of stores, while directly managed stores and e-commerce (EC) both significantly exceeded the previous year.

As a consequence of the above, sales at physical stores such as department stores, directly managed stores, and outlet stores were at 96% of previous year’s level, EC sales at 124%, and total company sales were at 100% of the previous year’s level.
