Monthly Overview (March 2025)

FY2026

2025

March

The apparel market for this month was sluggish overall, as inbound sales, which had remained strong, leveled off somewhat and fell below the previous year's level, and spring apparel sales were sluggish due to the impact of low temperatures in the first and at the end of the month.

In our company as well, sales remained sluggish in the first half as the continued low temperatures prevented spring merchandise from gaining momentum in full-priced sales.
In the latter half of the month, sales gradually increased in line with rising temperatures, but the temperature declined again towards the end of the month. As a result, full-priced sales, mainly at department stores, were especially challenging.
On the other hand, sales of autumn and winter goods through e-commerce and outlet stores were strong, significantly outperforming the previous year.

As a consequence, the monthly sales of department stores, directly managed stores, outlets, and other brick-and-mortar stores in March were 95%, and EC sales were 105% of the previous year’s levels. However, the company's overall year-over-year sales were 96%.
