Monthly Overview (April 2026)
FY2027
April
The apparel market in April remained solid overall, driven by strong sales of spring products due to rising temperatures and recovery in inbound sales due to the continued depreciation of the yen.
In our company, as temperatures rose, spring products, particularly lightweight apparel, performed well. Additionally, membership customer sales increased driven by promotional campaigns in the latter half. Consequently, monthly performance exceeded the previous year.
By sales channel, comparable store sales at department stores exceeded the previous year, but overall department stores’ sales fell below the previous year due to the impact of decrease in the number of stores, while e-commerce (EC) continued to perform well and exceeded the previous year.
As a consequence of the above, sales at physical stores such as department stores, directly managed stores, and outlet stores were at 99% of previous year’s level, EC sales at 117%, and total company sales were at 101% of the previous year's level.
