Monthly Overview (June 2026)

FY2027

June

The apparel market in June remained solid, supported by strong sales of high-priced merchandise including luxury brands and the recovery in inbound sales due to the depreciation of the yen. On the other hand, sales of general apparel were sluggish due to unfavorable weather and fewer holidays than the previous year.

In our company, customer traffic did not increase as expected due to the effects of unfavorable weather and fewer holidays than the previous year. In addition, customer-attraction initiatives had only a limited impact, resulting in weak sales of early-summer products, including lightweight apparel, in both full-price and markdown sales.

By sales channel, although e-commerce (EC) continued to exceed the previous year, it was not enough to offset the sales decline at physical stores.

As a consequence of the above, sales at physical stores such as department stores, directly managed stores, and outlet stores were at 89% of the previous year’s level, EC sales were at 105%, and total company sales were at 92% of the previous year’s level.
