Monthly Overview (February 2024)
FY2024
February
The apparel market during the month was firm due to factors such as good sales of Spring apparel mainly for luxury brands, a significant increase in visitors to Japan during the Chinese New Year period, and an increase in inbound sales.
We also saw a year-on-year increase due to the smooth start of operations for Spring products and an increase in inbound sales, mainly at urban department stores and directly managed stores. In addition, sales of Autumn/Winter goods in outlets and EC were also strong, and sales exceeded the previous year's level, in conjunction with the expansion of full price sales of Spring products.
As a consequence of the above, monthly sales of department stores, directly managed stores, outlets, and other brick-and-mortar stores rose 107% and EC sales rose 113% year on year in February. As a result, total sales were 108% of the previous year.
In H2 of the fiscal year, brick-and-mortar stores accounted for 101% of total sales, while EC sales, which had been suspended due to its renewals, accounted for 96% of total sales, and 101% of total sales, respectively.
