Clothing Collection Activities

Sanyo aims to contribute to the realization of a "resource-recycling society" in which limited resources are efficiently utilized and resources are recycled in a sustainable manner under the materiality of "Efforts toward a circular economy".

As part of our efforts to address this materiality, we have named our 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) activities "SANYO RE: PROJECT" and started a new clothing collection activity in March 2024.In this activity, we try as much as possible to reuse collected clothing, including resale, in order to ensure that it can be worn for a longer period of time before it is recycled. In fi fiscal 2024, we reused 37% of the collected items, and more than 99% of the remaining 63% were reused through our business partners.

We collect some general merchandise products, such as clothing and bags manufactured by Sanyo, at the directly managed stores of Sanyo and the Sanyo brand stores in department stores nationwide.

To thank our customers for their cooperation, we offer Sanyo Membership Points, which can be used at the directly managed stores of Sanyo and at the Sanyo brand stores throughout Japan, of 500 points per piece collected.

Products subject to recall

Sanyo's apparel, bags, and other sundries

  • General merchandise products are limited to bags, scarves, stoles, ties, gloves, and hats.
  • We do not collect items that are badly stained or damaged, underwear, underwear, swimsuits, or pajamas.
  • The maximum number of items collected is 19 per person per month.
  • Please bring your clothes after washing.
  • We will not return any clothing or sundries that have been picked up (we will not be responsible for any items left in your pockets, etc.).

Recovery benefits

Sanyo Membership Points of 500 points per piece

  • It is available at Sanyo's directly managed stores and Sanyo brand stores in department stores nationwide.
  • In accordance with the monthly number of clothes collected by each member, points for the subject will be presented on the 20th of the following month.
    (up to 9500 points per month)
  • Points are valid for 90 days from the date of grant.

Flow of clothing taken over

The collected clothing and miscellaneous goods are transported to a warehouse, where employees sort them.

For items that we can reuse, we conduct cleaning, finishing and inspection at our partner companies and sell them at the Sanyo G&B Outlet Ochiai and Shiomi stores, and Sanyo Outlet Store Shonan Hiratsuka.

Of the collected items that we do not resell, feather products that have a 50% or more down rate in quality labeling in quality labeling will be recycled through the Green Down Project, an organization that promotes feather recycling.

The remaining collected items are reused and recycled through our business partner, ECOMMIT Co., Ltd., which operates a resource recycling-oriented business.(materials for textile products, solid fuel, etc.)
