Sanyo signs the United Nations Global Compact

~With "Further promotion of CSR procurement" as its materiality, the company continues to implement measures to "protect human rights," "eliminate unfair work practices," "environmental initiatives," and "prevent corruption."~

Sanyo is a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (United Nations Global Compact), the world's largest sustainability initiative for building a healthy global community, in which the United Nations and the private sector join hands, and was registered as a participating company in March 2024. At the same time, we joined the Global Compact Network Japan, which is made up of Japanese companies that have signed UNGC.
We have identified "Further promotion of CSR procurement" as one of our material issues, and we agree with the ten principles set forth by UNGC in the four areas of "protecting human rights," "eliminating unjust work," "environmental response," and "preventing corruption." We will continue to work to achieve these principles.

■About the United Nations Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the world's largest sustainability initiative that aims to build a healthy global society by joining forces between the United Nations and the private sector (companies and organizations). It is a voluntary initiative for companies and organizations to act as good members of society and achieve sustainable growth by demonstrating responsible and creative leadership.

■Sanyo's Materiality "Further promotion of CSR procurement"

Sanyo has identified four material issues from among a wide range of issues, such as climatechange and resource recycling, and has set specific action plans and KPI (quantitative targets) to monitor the progress. One of our material issues is "Further promotion of CSR procurement" and we are working to address human rights concerns and eliminate disparities and discrimination throughout the supply chain through partnerships.
Through the signing of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), we will embody our efforts to further promote the procurement of CSR, which is a materiality, and work to respect human rights in our business activities based on our Basic Policy on Sustainability and Human rights policy. At the same time, we will further promote the procurement of CSR in cooperation with various stakeholders in the supply chain.
