ECOALF cleanup event 2024

In 2020, Sanyo began domestic operations in ECOALF, where environmental conservation activities (cleanup events) are held regularly every year.
In addition to the general public, people from ECOALF business partners and employees of Sanyo have also participated in these events.
Introduction to Activities in 2024
December 21(Shinjuku)
December is Japan's "Global Warming Prevention Month". On December 21st, ECOALF and Shinjuku Takashimaya co-hosted the fifth "ACT NOW! Shinjuku Cleanup Event". With the participation of the general public, about 30 people picked up trash around Shinjuku Takashimaya.
※In December 1997, the Ministry of the Environment held the Third Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP3) in Kyoto. The month from fiscal 1998 to December of the following year is designated as the "Global Warming Prevention Month."

On World Vegan Day, November 1, the fourth installment of the "ACT NOW! Shinjuku Cleanup Event" co-hosted by ECOALF and Shinjuku Takashimaya was held. On the day of the event, the participants started near Yotsuya Station in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, where Sanyo's head office is located, and walked to Shinjuku Gyoen to pick up trash. This time, 13 new employees of Sanyo also participated in the event as training.

After ACT NOW! Shinjuku Cleanup Event, I had one comment: "It feels good! That was my impression. I realized how much the morning cleanup activities make the day start with a refreshing feeling. We would like to continue this activity together with our customers, people who are interested in environmental activities, and Sanyo Shokai.
When I heard about ECOALF from Sanyo Shokai in 2019, I was impressed that it has a strong commitment to global environmental protection, which will be indispensable for apparel in the future.
And there were three things I thought about when I introduced ECOALF to the Shinjuku store in the spring of 2024.
1. We will open the first permanent store in a department store in the Kanto region, and let as many customers as possible know that our ECOALF is made entirely of recycled materials and natural materials with low environmental impact.
2. Not only the products, but also the store itself should be made of recycled or environmentally friendly materials.
3. Opening a shop does not mean completion; a shop should be a place where customers can participate and communicate activities to protect the environment. In particular, by making products using materials recycled from garbage collected by customers through the cleanup activities and selling them at the Shinjuku Takashimaya ECOALF store, the recycling becomes more visible and motivation for the cleanup activities is increased.
We will continue to hold cleanup events and sell products made from collected recycled materials.
By continuing these activities, we hope to raise environmental awareness with our customers and continue to enjoy our environmental activities more.
