We have been holding Clothing Education Classes at Eco Gallery Shinjuku since 2017 as an initiative in Shinjuku City, where our head office is located. This event is held as part of the program of the Children's Eco Plaza Shinjuku, a children's eco club run by Eco Gallery Shinjuku, where elementary school students who are interested in the environment gather beyond the boundaries of school and grade.

Since 2020, we have been conducting classes online due to the corona problem, so on Sunday, July 9 was the first class in four years at Eco Gallery Shinjuku.

On the day of the class, an employee from our Corporate Communication Department played the role of teacher and explained the process of making clothes and upcycling, and then held a workshop to make "coasters" using our remnants. About 40 elementary school students from grades 1 to 6 in Shinjuku City experienced upcycling crafts.

The completed coasters had many innovative designs, and some of them cheerfully said, "I want to be a designer! Some of them cheerfully said, "I want to be a designer!" and some of them came to get materials for their coasters, saying, "I want my siblings to make them too.”

6/29 (Thursday) @ Nishi-Shinjuku Elementary School's Clothing Education Class

On Thursday, June 29th, we held a Clothing Education Class for 50 fourth graders at Nishi-Shinjuku Elementary School.

This is a Clothing Education Class for children, who will be the leaders of the future, with the aim of experiencing the joy of manufacturing and fostering a spirit of wearing clothes with care for a long time. I hope that they will be able to use what they have learned in class in their daily lives and work on taking care of things.
