SANYO RE: PROJECT
As part of the materiality "Efforts toward a circular economy" SANYO has collectively named its 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) activities as "SANYO RE: PROJECT." As part of this effort, we carry out clothing collection activities, sell reused items, and plan and sell products using "green down."
The fashion industry has been pointed out as an industry with a large environmental impact due to the use of resources and energy, and the shortening of life cycles, and has become an international issue. In recent years, efforts to create sustainable fashion that takes environmental impact into account have been expanding.
However, according to a survey conducted by the Ministry of the Environment(*1) in Japan, 66% of clothes that consumers have given away are incinerated or disposed of in landfills, and the reuse rate is only 19%.
Since 2019, we have been engaged in activities to collect clothing on the premise of recycling. In the new clothing collection activities that started in March 2024, we will not only recycle, but also re-sell them for reuse, with the aim of ensuring that they can be worn for an even longer period of time before being recycled.
In addition, we will continue to recycle feathers through the "Green Down Project" for feather products that have a quality label down rate of 50% or more among the collected products that we do not resell. Compared to incinerating waste, this system can help reduce CO2 and help prevent global warming.

Clothing Collection Activities

Under our 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) program, "SANYO RE: PROJECT," we have started a new clothing collection program based on the premise of reuse.
Clothing and some miscellaneous goods manufactured by Sanyo will be collected at the affected stores. For each item we collect, we offer 500 Sanyo Membership Points, which can be used at our directly managed stores and at the Sanyo Shokai brand stores throughout the country.
Sales of reused products
"Sanyo Shokai Certified Reuse Items", which are selected from the clothing and miscellaneous goods collected through the collection activities and finished in good condition, are sold at the Sanyo G&B Outlet Ochiai and Shiomi stores, and Sanyo Outlet Store Shonan Hiratsuka.
The reused products we sell are "Sanyo Shokai Certified Reuse Items" that maintain the quality of the collected clothing and miscellaneous goods by carefully sorting, cleaning, finishing, and inspecting them according to our own standards, and we aim to supply customers with safe and secure quality products at special prices.
Green Down Project

As a member of the "Green Down Project", Sanyo Shokai collects down products at some of its stores in order to contribute to the realization of a "feather recycling cycle society".
